Abigail Roark, BSN, RN, IBCLC
Abigail is an experienced Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) nurse and International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) who brings a calm, reassuring presence to families during some of the most tender moments of early parenthood.
With extensive experience in Level III and Level IV NICUs, she has cared for premature and medically complex infants and supported countless families through complex feeding journeys. In addition to her lactation role, Abigail continues to provide bedside nursing care in the NICU to maintain and strengthen her clinical skills. Remaining hands-on in acute care allows her to offer a well-rounded, highly skilled perspective in every lactation consultation.
Her advanced clinical background allows her to provide expert assessment of latch challenges, milk supply concerns, oral restrictions, weight gain questions, and individualized feeding plans tailored to each family’s unique goals. Abigail combines evidence-based lactation care with compassionate, family-centered support. She understands that feeding is deeply connected to bonding, parental confidence, and postpartum mental health, and she approaches every consultation with empathy, encouragement, and respect for each family’s individual story.
Beyond lactation, Abigail is passionate about mental health advocacy. She believes families deserve not only expert clinical care, but also emotional validation and holistic support as they navigate the early postpartum period — especially when that journey includes a NICU stay.
Outside of her professional life, Abigail finds joy and restoration in nature. Hiking is one of her favorite ways to unwind, and she has a love for photography — often capturing the beauty of the outdoors during her adventures. She shares her life with four beloved fur babies who are her world. Abigail is engaged to her wonderful fiancé, who is both her adventure partner and best friend. A devoted family person at heart, she cherishes time spent with those she loves most.
